Things To Do

Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre has been voted one of the top five "Family Days Out" in Scotland in the 2014 Scottish Entertainment Guide Awards. Winners will be announced at the award ceremony at the Clyde Auditorium on 18th May.

The Trossachs are often referred to as the Highlands in miniature. The real beauty of the region are its richly forested lochs, with especially spectacular colours in autumn. They include Lochs Ard, Venachar, Achray and Chon, but most famous is Loch Katrine, indelibly associated with Sir Walter Scott.

Public transport is limited in rural areas in Scotland and not all areas are serviced by public transport.  Demand Responsive Transport ('Taxi' Service) is organised in rural areas where commercial or conventional bus operators are unable to provide bus services.  You can use this service at the cost of a bus fare rather than a taxi fare.  Please note this must be booked 24 hours in advance and a number of our guests have been caught out by this.  Please use this link ( to book your DRT or call the hostel to talk to a member of staff about how the service works.
